What’s Happening This Weekend

Your corridor has plenty going on this weekend — here are a few highlights to get you out of the house:

Snellville Farmers’ Market — Every Saturday, 8:30 am–12:30 pm on the Towne Green at City Hall (2342 Oak Road). Fresh local produce, meats, eggs, honey, and artisan goods all summer long. It’s a Snellville Saturday staple!
Winder Farmers Market on the Square — Saturdays 8:30 am–12:00 pm at 15 Porter Street, behind the historic downtown courthouse. Come taste what Barrow County’s growers are bringing in this week!
Monroe Market & Downtown Vibe — The Monroe Market continues its Saturday runs, celebrating local farmers and artisans. And save the date: the next Downtown Monroe First Friday Concert is August 7th — live music, good food, and small-town charm.

The Trend You Need to Know

Here’s a shift savvy buyers should pay attention to: the value corridor has moved east. As central and western Gwinnett (Duluth, Suwanee, Peachtree Corners) have priced out many buyers, the most attainable new construction is now happening in places like Loganville, Bethlehem, and Winder — right in our backyard.

In Barrow County alone, builders are actively selling new homes in the high $300Ks in Winder, while Gwinnett saw nearly 1,000 new construction listings from 48 builders as of this spring. Meanwhile, inventory is ticking up across the corridor — Newton County saw listings jump nearly 29% year-over-year — giving buyers more choices than they’ve seen in years.

Bottom line: if you’ve been waiting for “more options,” that window is opening right now. Let’s talk before it closes.

Beat the Georgia Humidity This Summer

We’re in Georgia summer mode — and that means humidity, thunderstorms, and moisture finding every crack it can. Here’s a quick homeowner checklist to protect your biggest investment this season:

1.  Check your gutters and downspouts. Georgia’s afternoon storms can dump inches of rain fast. Make sure water is draining away from your foundation, not into it.
2.  Inspect your HVAC filter and coils. Your AC is working overtime right now. A dirty filter forces the system to work harder, spikes your energy bill, and can lead to early failure.
3.  Look for moisture in your crawl space or basement. Georgia’s clay soil holds water and our homes “breathe” humidity. A dehumidifier or vapor barrier now is far cheaper than mold remediation later.
4.  Caulk around windows and doors. Humidity finds gaps. Recaulking exterior joints helps keep moisture out and your conditioned air in.

Thinking about selling this fall? Buyers notice every bit of deferred maintenance. A little summer upkeep now pays off at the closing table.
