This Weekend on the Corridor
It’s a jam-packed weekend out there — three great reasons to get off the couch and into the community:
| |
★ Groovin’ on the Green — TONIGHT
Friday, May 15 • 7:30 PM • Loganville Town Green, 235 Main St
Kick off the weekend with live music under the stars at Downtown Loganville’s beloved summer concert series. Bring your lawn chair, a picnic, and enjoy beer and wine on the green. This kicks off the May–September monthly series!
|
| |
★ 11th Annual Loganville Wing Fling
Saturday, May 16 • 10:30 AM–2:30 PM • Loganville Town Green
Eleven years strong! The Rotary Club of Loganville’s beloved wing competition returns with local teams battling for bragging rights, a vendor marketplace, the Chicken Dance Contest, and kids’ activities. Proceeds support local charities across the corridor.
|
| |
★ Good Hope Poppy Festival
Saturday, May 16 • 9 AM–4 PM • 190 High Shoals Rd, Good Hope (Walton County)
A beautiful Walton County tradition honoring “The Poppy Lady” Moina Michael — a Good Hope native whose red poppy movement to support WWI veterans became a national symbol. Family-friendly, rain or shine, with all proceeds supporting local veteran causes.

The Market Is Shifting — Buyers, Take Note
If you’ve been waiting on the sidelines, the Atlanta to Athens corridor is showing signs that your patience may finally be paying off. Inventory is climbing across all four of our counties — Gwinnett, Walton, Newton, and Barrow — and homes are sitting on the market longer than they did a year ago.
In Newton County, the average days on market jumped from 43 to over 60 days year-over-year. Barrow County inventory is up nearly 26% compared to last year. Walton County saw a 14% inventory increase from March to April alone. That means more choices, more room to negotiate, and more motivated sellers.
The bottom line: This is the most buyer-friendly window we’ve seen in years along the corridor. If you’re thinking about making a move, let’s talk strategy — 770-833-5965.

Tucked in a quiet cul-de-sac in Loganville’s Timber Walk neighborhood, this traditional brick-front home checks a lot of boxes. Two large living areas, a cozy brick fireplace, a spacious deck for those Georgia evenings, and it feeds into the highly sought-after Archer High School district — all with no HOA. Homes like this in Loganville’s established neighborhoods don’t stay on the market long, especially as we enter the summer buying season.

💡 May Homeowner Tip: Service Your HVAC Before Georgia Gets Serious
If you haven’t had your HVAC serviced yet this year, May is your last comfortable window before Georgia’s humidity arrives in full force. Here’s a quick checklist:
|
► Change your air filter — switch to a MERV-8 or higher to combat Georgia pollen and humidity
► Clear debris from outdoor units — spring storms leave behind leaves and sticks that reduce efficiency
► Schedule a pro tune-up — a $75–$100 visit can prevent a $1,500 mid-summer breakdown
► Check attic insulation — Georgia’s heat radiates through the roof; proper insulation is your biggest energy-saver
|
Pro tip: A well-maintained HVAC system is also a selling point when it’s time to list. Buyers notice — and so do home inspectors.
